  1. Extremely powerful book that I’ve read and shared with family and friends. Nate’s story was personal and inspirational…and while I haven’t experienced the same situations, was able to apply his message to my own life.

  2. Fantastic book that I’ve read a number of times and still keep on my nightstand!

#3 Alone but Not Lonely

This is a story of personal growth in reclaiming your identity and being unapologetically you. I take the reader through my story and then gives the reader tools and strategies to put into action immediately. It’s understanding that there is a difference of lonely from a point of isolation to being alone and not lonely being a place of solitude and empowerment.

#4 Design the Life You Love

This is one of my favorite guided journals, built on the principles of Design. I started my career as a designer, so this journal has really resonated with me. I work with a lot of creatives as well, and they’ve reported really enjoying the approach and the activities in the journal. It’s a unique take on an inspiring personal journey - your life!

#5 The Daily Greatness Journal

The Daily Greatness Journal is a fantastic daily agenda/planner/goal organizer. I love this book because it asks people to reflect on many of the questions that I ask in life coaching. Our brain is concerned with our survival, not our happiness, and as such we are all wired to focus on and prioritize negative thoughts and feelings. Therefore, you are responsible for training your brain to happiness. Just like any habit, this takes repetition and attention.

This journal helps you accomplish this in a low-caliber, daily way that is coaching awesomeness!

#7 The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson

I love The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson because this book is the implementation key for all other books. It helps you see the compounding interest effect of making small changes over time and how you are either building what you want, or avoiding it.

I absolutely adore it and only recently encountered it.

#9 You are a Badass by Jen Sincero

This is often people's first encounter with the world of life-coaching and a book that quite frankly helps you self-coach from the very first page. Jen's take on personal development and the value of coaching marry practical wisdom, humor and do-now methods that can create immediate shifts in perception and patterns.

#11 Self-Coaching 101

We don’t understand in life, that we have choice over how we feel. The thoughts we think, the feelings we get from those thoughts then spark certain actions. Whether those are actions toward our goals or not, all stem from a place of thought first. In order to become who we desire to be and have the life we want, we must understand our minds deeply.

#12 One Door Closes: Overcoming Adversity By Following Your Dreams

One Door Closes: Overcoming Adversity By Following Your Dreams, which is currently being made into a documentary film, presents the inspirational, highly emotional stories of 16 people from all walks of life who overcame seemingly insurmountable obstacles to achieve their dreams and goals.

Through first-person accounts, these courageous survivors share their philosophies for living life with vision, courage, determination and passion--no matter the obstacles. These people demonstrate our core philosophy that even ordinary people CAN achieve extraordinary things in life, if you believe in yourself, have the courage to change, and persevere until you reach your goal. While 13 of the people profiled are just ordinary people, three of them are celebrities--Mary Wilson of The Supremes, Scherrie Payne of The Supremes, and June Monteiro of The Toys. No matter who you are, no matter how famous you are, you ARE going to face adversity in life.

The second half of One Door Closes features 10 self-assessment tools that readers can use to design their own road map to get from where they are now to where they want to be in life. We think this feature is what makes our book different from other motivational and coaching books.
