One Door Closes: Overcoming Adversity By Following Your Dreams, which is currently being made into a documentary film, presents the inspirational, highly emotional stories of 16 people from all walks of life who overcame seemingly insurmountable obstacles to achieve their dreams and goals.
Through first-person accounts, these courageous survivors share their philosophies for living life with vision, courage, determination and passion–no matter the obstacles. These people demonstrate our core philosophy that even ordinary people CAN achieve extraordinary things in life, if you believe in yourself, have the courage to change, and persevere until you reach your goal. While 13 of the people profiled are just ordinary people, three of them are celebrities–Mary Wilson of The Supremes, Scherrie Payne of The Supremes, and June Monteiro of The Toys. No matter who you are, no matter how famous you are, you ARE going to face adversity in life.
The second half of One Door Closes features 10 self-assessment tools that readers can use to design their own road map to get from where they are now to where they want to be in life. We think this feature is what makes our book different from other motivational and coaching books.
