The Omnivore’s Dilemma by Michael Pollan (6/18)

The Omnivore’s Dilemma taught that Americans are fat because of our highly processed diet, most of which consists of corn.Starting in the 70s corn became highly subsidized. Since corn was so cheap, companies figured out ways to use corn product in a plethora of ways, all of which found their way into most our food. Anyway, it’s not genetics that causes an overweight America, it is our food. Food that makes us hungry for more. Food that is not nourishing. Food that is not really food.

So if you want to lose weight, dump those diet pills, those diet plans, and diet food (diet food actually makes you fatter!)… and buy organic, locally grown, real food. Your appetite will diminish along with your waste line. That’s how you lose weight!
