Learning the art of negotiation is a pivotal interpersonal skill that may save you time and money. Often issues arise when two different people have their own personal expectations that they demand to be met. If neither party is willing to back down or indeed negotiate, this can cause problems. The way to deal with this is to ensure in any discussion, debate or negotiation, to ensure that you remain calm yet assured. Be positive and assertive with what you require, but also be prepared to listen effectively and understand the needs of others. This will provide a more effective and positive outcome in the long run.
