I understand this was the last book written by Colin Forbes who died soon after this was published. I have read some of his earlier books and enjoyed them, but I was disappointed by this book.
There is plenty of action, but the characters were just too brilliant and the scenes just too improbable. I also found the manner in which the characters acted towards the only female hero somewhat old-fashioned. However, I did keep turning the pages right up to the end (and I do throw out books I can’t be bothered with before I finish them.)
I began to feel quite giddy trying to keep up with the pace of the story – whatever next I was wondering. And in this book, I felt I knew who the multi-murderer was right from very near the beginning.
I would like to say this was an enthralling read, but I can’t. But if you do want to read some of Colin Forbes earlier books you might very well enjoy them, as I did.
