#7 GPS Enabled Mapping Tablet, Handheld or Phone
This product was recommended by Ron Humes from Post Modern Marketing
For those of us who like to wander off the beaten path, it is very important that we know how to find where we are, where we are going, and most definitely how to find our way back. Once we leave the safety of cell phone towers, we lose not only the ability to call for help, but also the ability for those devices to give us maps or guidance. In these instances, you will need a device that has a satellite signal receiver to find your coordinates.
This is what is called a GPS (Global Positioning System) Receiver. Now that you have your spatial coordinates to locate yourself on the globe, you will need a resident, digitized map downloaded to the device so your position can be depicted on the associated map. There are many Applications (Apps) that have free, downloadable maps that can use these GPS coordinates to show your exact position. In addition, many of these devices have the ability to record a starting point and your complete track so that you can retrace yourself back to that initial position.
