The Lessons of History by Will and Ariel Durant (1/3)

I sat and read this timeless classic at yesterday’s inauguration of London Breed as San Francisco mayor; with good reason.

This compendium of essays by Pulitzer Prizes winners William and Ariel Durantsuccinctly describes the last 5,000 years of political and societal intrigue. This is a valiant attempt to unpack the Pandora’s box of history by two amazing intellects. It is not for those who are not already well-acquainted with history in a broad sense, but those who have a passion for learning from the past will find many treasures here.
