The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (5/7)

When it comes to books, it’s not just intense non-fiction that can increase your intellect. All genres including literary dramas, sci-fi, and even humour can do just as good a job of expanding your mental horizons, and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is the perfect example how.

On the face of it H2G2 might seem like a silly sci-fi romp, but beneath the silliness, there is a scathing satire delivered in a barrage of jokes and wordplay. Douglas Adams’ prose provides witty insight and a sideways look upon interpersonal relationships, bureaucracy and even the meaning of life itself. It’s one of the few books that can change your way of thinking while keeping you in constant fits of laughter. That’s why this book still maintains a dedicated and passionate fan base.
