One of the strangest and most bizarre animals around, the Texas Blind Salamander is an interesting point between cute, and slightly unnerving. Only finding its home in the constant pitch darkness of the water-filled caves in County Hayes, Texas, its choice of total blindness and lack of skin pigments might seem like an odd development. However, the Texas Blind Salamander has proven to be a skilled hunter in its environment; hunting mainly small snails, it makes use of its ability to sense pressure waves in the dark water.
