Saint Helena Coffee – $79/pound (8/12)

Found 1,200 miles off the west coast of Africa, the shipping costs of this coffee is what really drives up its price tag. The location aside, it has a delightfully original and distinctive caramel-like taste with hints of citrus that help balance out the flavours. Named after the island it is found on, it is reported that the great French general Napoleon Bonaparte was a devout fan of this coffee, the legacy of which has to play a part in its hefty cost.
