Robert Caro’s Series on Lyndon B Johnson (1/9)

I would strongly recommend any of the books in Robert Caro’s series of biographies on Lyndon Johnson. A great biography is a great history. These books capture the history of our country and the individuals important to that history from the New Deal to the Great Society. The volume on Johnson’s tenure and majority leadership in the U.S. Senate provides remarkable insight into the workings of the Senate and helps explain why it suffers from some of the institutional problems that make progress difficult.
