The first book every college student should read is the Bureau of Labor Statistic’s Occupational Outlook Handbook. People go to college so they can learn things that will help them get a better job in the future. But, all too often young people graduate college mired in a lifetime of student debt with little to no prospect of better employment.
But, a little research up front with the Occupational Outlook Handbook will help students avoid a lifetime of debt. With the Handbook they’ll understand how much the jobs in their discipline will pay, what’s the likelihood of getting that type of employment, and the demands of that career.
