Everything I Never Told You (1/12)

I think Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng would be a top pick for getting people back into reading. It’s an engrossing story with characters that almost anyone can relate to. Ng’s engaging storytelling makes the novel a quick read as well, partly because it’s hard to put down. The novel’s themes–being an outsider, lack of communication, racism, and family dynamics–make the book appropriate for high school students as well as adults.

I’d also recommend her critically-acclaimed follow-up novel, Little Fires Everywhere.
