It’s a very smart well written book in the vein of Malcom Gladwell. The book includes stories from real people’s lives along with socio-cultural research that explain why these real experiences exist. I think it is helpful to normalize the pressures we feel in this generation of parenting, why expectations may be different in one community or another, how genders different in differing approaches and what might be the benefits and challenges that each contributes.
As a new parent many people feel either isolated or over exposed to the opinions of well meaning others or both, this book helps normalize a variety of potential parenting dilemmas and concerns and introduce parents to experiences they may not be otherwise facing in their context.
