Brighton is a hotspot for locals and tourists alike, particularly during the summer months. It’s an extravagant town with quirky features and impressive coast. The art scene is dominant here; with pastel coloured houses and cobbled streets adding to the family-friendly atmosphere. Brighton is widely regarded as one of the best places to live in the UK because of it’s amazing work/life balance. It’s cheaper than many other major cities, and the combination of the beach with city centre means there’s something for everyone.

Home to the BBC and Media City, Manchester is often considered the next best city outside of London. Many people moving to the UK from US states consider Manchester as an option. Its undergone millions of pounds of investment over the last few years, transforming it into a cosmopolitan city. The housing market is stable, and ¼ cheaper than many homes in London. It’s also cheaper to rent here, largely due to the huge student population.

Cardiff is a historical city, which makes it a common tourist destination for anyone planning on visiting Wales. If you love the countryside and long walks with spectacular views, then Cardiff may be the place for you. It’s also very reasonably priced, with it being approximately 38% cheaper to live there than London.

Once voted one of the happiest places to work in the UK, Liverpool is certainly a contender for many people looking to move from overseas. The city centre has had major developments over the last few years to make it more appealing to prospective buyers. In the outskirts of the city you can definitely bag a bargain.

In Norwich, reportedly 77% of people say they love their job. There’s a strong sense of community here, an ideal place to move to if you’re moving the UK not knowing anyone. It’s a quintessentially picturesque town, which is much more affordable than London, and even Manchester.

Nottingham is a largely creative city, with a university encouraging more young professionals to stick around in the city. There are a number of Google partnerships here, further cementing its technological edge.
