#1 Black A-2 Leather Flight Jacket
What do you like about this piece?
Liam: Its army, Top Gun esq feel is really cool. You don’t find too many leather jackets that are fitted at the bottom like a bomber jacket. The collar is also very stylish, some leather jackets can be a little OTT but this is back to basics and looks good.
Gath: This piece has an old-world military quality that is cool and because it also has a modern twist as well, it’s perfect for the direction that fashion is heading towards.
What do you NOT like about this piece?
Liam: Pockets look a bit too big, the coat itself is ribbed and cut off and the pockets should always reflect the length of the coat. A smaller pocket size would look more aesthetically pleasing.
Gath: As it is made in lambskin, a really luxurious and soft feel leather, the way the leather has been put together actually creates a distraction that negates the special quality that lambskin has to offer.
What do you think would go well with this piece?
Liam: Definitely, from the looks of it, a hoodie underneath will give you a rugged look and goes really well with a leather jacket.
Gath: Due to the mix of old world and modern elements, this would work well with denim jeans and a t-shirt, sneakers or a boot, as well as slacks in a charcoal gray and a white button-down shirt. For the artsy types, a plaid trouser would actually give this piece some oomph.
#2 Brown A-2 Leather Flight Jacket
What do you like about this piece?
Liam: Like above, I like the army connection, it looks very cool and also looks like you can wear it baggy which would be a good look.
What do you NOT like about this piece?
Liam: The colour. I think brown rarely looks good with leather jackets, it makes you look older, more dated and it doesn’t compliment the black fitting at the bottom and on the cuffs.
What do you think would go well with this piece?
Liam: I think you might be able to pull off some dark wash jeans with some smart chukka boots, to give you an edgy look.
#3 Khaki Lightweight Jacket
What do you like about this piece?
Liam: The puffa look is really cool at the moment, I think it is appealing that it’s lightweight so you can wear a few things underneath to style it better.
Gath: The colour makes this piece really interesting. It’s not your typical khaki but makes the piece appear unique and expensive.
What do you NOT like about this piece?
Liam: The collar and the colour. I think the collar looks out of place and totally the wrong design for the jacket. The Khaki colour as well doesn’t allow a lot of room for other colour styles to mix with it.
Gath: Not a fan of the two breast-pockets. While the balance of function and fashion are relevant, these two pockets create way too much bulk in appearance which ultimately would give one a stuffy look. Again, this can also be the colour that contributes to this if not the pockets themselves. A colour, detail mismatch.
What do you think would go well with this piece?
Liam: A branded sweat underneath, maybe Lyle & Scott or Armani would compliment the design of the jacket. Keep the colour toned down though with a black or grey sweat.
Gath: This piece would go really well with denim jeans, a fleece jogger pant, even khaki on khaki would be a good idea. Though using different variants of khaki would be best. For those who love to layer or need to layer should go for shirts and tops that don’t have too big a pattern or print or even colour as this can conflict with the jacket itself. Especially when removing one or the other isn’t an option.
#4 Schott CWU-R Navy Bomber Flight Jacket 210100
What do you like about this piece?
Liam: The inside orange lining is really cool and very in right now. It stands out but doesn’t overpower an outfit. Also, the zip pocket on the side looks great on any bomber jacket, I wish they would incorporate that look more often.
What do you NOT like about this piece?
Liam: The collar again. I think a collar can make or break a jacket, this time it breaks it. I would much prefer a classic no collar bomber, it emphasizes the puffy look of the bomber which is what you want from these types of jackets.
What do you think would go well with this piece?
Liam: Skinny black jeans and a Grey Ralph Lauren t-shirt underneath. You want to keep things light underneath so the bomber looks oversized on you.
#5 Black Sleeveless Gilet Jacket
What do you like about this piece?
Liam: It’s simple for a gilet and the nylon fabric is the only fabric that should be used for gilets. Sometimes you can get gilets that are made up of cotton (like the Hollister ones) and they just don't look good. It has to have the shiny finish.
What do you NOT like about this piece?
Liam: I’m not much a fan of gilet’s, they are a difficult one to pull off. I’d say if this came in a red it would be a standout piece of clothing. The black is a bit boring, for a jacket that is supposed to make you stand out.
What do you think would go well with this piece?
Liam: Definitely a long sleeve tee or a sweat. These can be cheap and not branded as the gilet will cover most of the sweat/tee.
#6 US 740N Peacoat Navy Jacket
What do you like about this piece?
Liam: I think Pea coats should always be Navy, the colour is good and the inner lining also makes the coat look like good quality.
Gath: The style, fit, finish and colour. A classic wardrobe staple.
What do you NOT like about this piece?
Liam: I’m not a fan of Pea coats and the collar and buttons stick out like a sore thumb. They take over the entire outfit and don’t look flattering on guys, I think.
Gath: I’d say the alignment of buttons is a tad bit off. If looked at closely, the extreme left side is a bit higher than the right.
What do you think would go well with this piece?
Liam: Smart trousers and a white buttoned up oxford shirt. Always go smart with these coats as it compliments the look.
Gath: Being a classic, timeless piece; this can go a formal route; with a gray or khaki trousers, a checkered button-down shirt and the optional tie. Go for an oxford shoe, or monk-straps, even a formal looking sneaker in a dark tone may work well for athletic individuals. On the flip-side, this can be worn with clay to tan chinos, a casual shirt and a light jumper for chillier months. This one’s also great for those who love layering.
#7 Anthracite US 740 Peacoat
What do you like about this piece?
Liam: I can’t say I like too much with this piece. The detail on the buttons is cool though.
What do you NOT like about this piece?
Liam: It looks like it would be oversized on anyone for a start. The collar again looks unflattering and the grey colour would much rather suit an overcoat.
What do you think would go well with this piece?
Liam: I’d say a buttoned up shirt with a lightweight knit over the top. To give that smart casual look.
#8 Black Lightweight Jacket
What do you like about this piece?
Liam: I prefer the colour to the Khaki, you can definitely accessorize better with the colour and it makes the collarless obvious.
What do you NOT like about this piece?
Liam: I’m not sure about the pockets on the front of the jacket. Might look better with just the side pockets and a fitted rim across the whole jacket.
What do you think would go well with this piece?
Liam: You can go colour underneath, maybe a blue Stone Island jumper, something that stands out and compliments the jacket.

#9 Classic Perfecto 118 Leather Motorcycle Jacket
What do you like about this piece?
Liam: Not a lot, this is where people go wrong with leather jackets. But I guess I’d say the pockets on the side are a good thing to have on a leather jacket.
Gath: The style and fit and the fact that it’s leather that says… badass!
What do you NOT like about this piece?
Liam: Mostly everything, it’s way too busy, the collar is too big and the big belt-tightening at the bottom looks out of place. The best leather jackets are simple in design, this is not one of those jackets.
Gath: While this piece has a classic style and fit, with an essence of nostalgia, the zipper closure seem to be fighting for attention as both are totally opposite to each other. One modern the other classic, one with a leather puller the other without. Unnecessary complications that draw the eye away from the actual look of the piece which in itself isn’t bad at all.
What do you think would go well with this piece?
Liam: I would say dark ripped jeans and a charcoal t-shirt maybe with a skull design, underneath the jacket.
Gath: There is great diversity to be enjoyed with a classic leather biker jacket. Wearing it with snug leather pants and boots with a white tee or pairing it with denim jeans, a t-shirt under a zipper front hoodie for a layered look. This piece will even look good with a neutral jumper or a casual top that is knitted or in fleece. Wearing this jacket within a shirt-tie combo will look really cool as well.
