Time to Say I Do: How to Make Your Wedding Unique

Is there anything more magical than walking down the aisle toward your future spouse and having an entire day dedicated to your love? Weddings are truly special, both for yourself and your guests. If you really want your wedding day to stick out in people’s minds, though, you’ve got to stand out from the crowd. For all those newly-engaged couples out there, here’s how to make your wedding unique.

Have your ceremony at night

Who says you need to have your ceremony during the day? If you want a more mystical, romantic vibe, have your wedding ceremony at night. There are so many fun night wedding decorations you can incorporate, from an abundance of candles to romantic moons and stars. The ambiance alone will make your night under the stars an evening everyone will remember.

Create a memory jar

The best part about a wedding is just how many of your loved ones can come together in one place. Don’t let that opportunity go to waste—create a memory jar for guests. On your reception table, you can leave out a decorative glass bowl, some cards, and a set of pens. Leave some instructions asking guests to add a favorite memory they have with you, or that they have of you as a couple. The result is a  keepsake that will last a lifetime.

Ask for song suggestions

Nothing is quite as fun as busting a move on the dance floor. You don’t want your guests to stay glued to their seats, so make sure everyone can dance to a song they love. Simply ask your guests to list one song they’d love to hear at your wedding. You can send out an email ahead of time, or you can include the request in your RSVP. That way, when the DJ gets going, everyone will have something they can get down to.

Go out of the box with your something blue

Typically, when it comes to something blue, brides go for a garter or some subtle nail polish. To really make your wedding unique, think outside the box for your something blue. You could always include pale blue candles in your table settings or adorn your flower girl with some adorable blue flower crowns. You have limitless options here, and as long as you go against the grain, your guests will surely take note.

Make your own wine label

If you and your spouse-to-be love a good glass of wine, this idea is the perfect way to personalize your wedding. Making your own wine label will both impress your guests and give you a keepsake to cherish for years to come. Simply conjure up your design, order them from a custom label company, and you’ll have a classy and unique touch that everyone will appreciate. After all, who doesn’t love a stylish bottle of wine?
