A hugely underrated track from “Vessel”, Fake You Out is a song about putting up fake and false exteriors when you know that inside you’re really struggling. A synth-pop musical masterclass, it’s fast drops and exhilarating interludes carry the listener through a practical whirlwind of depth and genius.
Joseph’s lyrical brilliance aside for the moment, the demonstration of going from something like a falsetto to rapid rapping is truly something to admire and marvel at, and very few tracks do him as much justice as ‘Fake You Out’.
