It’s the definitive book on what’s come to be known as nice guy syndrome, which is guy’s tendency to be nice in a manipulative, creepy, underhanded way.
Reading it was really disconcerting at first; I felt like I’d been totally pegged. But it was ultimately very freeing because I understood myself better. I understood my own maladapted behavior with women, why I did it, and what the alternative, healthy approach looked like. It definitely helped that I wan’t alone, or crazy, just badly informed about what women want.
