America’s oldest and most beloved spirit, Bourbon has found its way in many of our hearts (and drinks). It can be a perfect gift for any celebration, holiday or special occasion. One of our very favorites and already festive enough with its red dipped wax is Maker’s Mark. Enjoy It straight, on the rocks or mixed in a cocktail, either way, it’s a gift that keeps on giving. This red, white, and bold concoction will have you feeling patriotic all night long (but not too many or you’ll be seeing stars and stripes.)
Sips and Stripes Created by Anthony Caporale, Art of The Drink A delicious play on the classic apple pie, but with a bourbon kick. This brightly colored cocktail is perfection when cheers-ing with your friends.
- 1 part Maker’s Mark(r) Bourbon
- 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 dashes Angostura(r) Bitters
- 3 parts dry hard cider
Stir together the sugar and the bitters until the sugar dissolves. Add Maker’s Mark(r) Bourbon. Top with cold cider. The dry apple flavor in the cider pairs perfectly with the Maker’s Mark(r) Bourbon and bitters. This easy-drinking cocktail goes with almost anything.
