Salads are often the go-to food for men and women looking to eat healthier, but traditional salad dressings aren’t made for anyone watching food intake. Just one tablespoon of ranch dressing, for instance, supplies nearly 100 calories — but there is an excellent fruit alternative to calorie-laden, processed dressings.
Peel and smash a very ripe pear, peach, or similar fruit. Add one to two tablespoons of balsamic vinegar and a touch of honey or another natural sweetener. Mix until combined and drizzle over the salad. You’ll never buy bottled dressing again.
