#1 DTBG Nylon Laptop Bag
I bought this bag because, as a commuter, I wanted something that had a significant amount of space but also made carrying easy. This bag transitions from a messenger style bag to backpack for the trek from the train station to the office and back to provide a more professional look. It also is incredibly durable. I blew through 5, High Sierra XBT TSA Messenger Bags, all under warranty, but after the 5th I called it. I am still using my DTBG from 18 months later, no issues.

#8 WIWU Multi Functional Travel Rucksack
For the last couple of months, I’ve been using the WIWU Multi Functional Travel Rucksack and I couldn’t be happier with it for a few reasons. Firstly, and probably most importantly here in the UK, it’s waterproof. Not only that, but it feels extremely well made. The material and zips feel very sturdy and there is plenty of padding inside to protect your laptop. At under $50 or £40 I don’t think you’ll find a better quality bag.
It has a lot of internal compartments to stop your things knocking together, more than in other laptop bags I’ve used, which is a nice feature. Also, the fact that it can be used as either a backpack, satchel or hand-held like a more traditional laptop bag means I can use it in a professional setting, like at work, and also after work when I’m riding my bike to the gym. Plus it looks very stylish in a textured grey colour.

#10 Herschel Sandford Messenger
It might look understated, but the Herschel Sandford Messenger is probably one of the most versatile laptop bags you'll find, and, unlike a lot of others, it doesn't compromise beauty for practicality. The neoprene-lined bag has a range of strong pockets and the fabric cover is probably more durable, and waterproof, than a lot available on the market at the moment.
