Despite your current age, there is a good chance that you remember your parents or some parental figure telling you that alcohol impairs your judgment. This is because it does. Even when consumed in minor amounts, it will affect the way you make decisions. The perfect example of this statement is when someone thinks that they are still fine to drive home just because they are only a little buzzed or only had one or two beers. Sure, you felt fine until you woke up the next morning in the hospital. How many times have you heard this story? This is because it happens. It just isn’t a myth. Driving alone is a dangerous activity. Just think about it. Getting behind the wheel of an automobile is so random and dangerous. At any given time, you could be the victim of someone else. Anyone that knows anything about DWI laws will tell you that alcohol is scientifically proven to slow your reaction time. In some situations, you will only have a split second to react, and that slower step could cost you your life. Or, even worse! You could kill someone else or a whole family.

Think about the legal charges involved with drinking and driving. The legal limit in most states is 0.08%, which could mean one or two drinks for some people of certain weights. Just remember, even if you have one beer and want to drive to the store, you are still at risk. Any slight accident and the cops could be called. What if someone bumps into you in the parking lot and wants to report the incident to the police. Choosing to drink and drive is like playing chicken with the law because you will get caught and eventually face legal charges.
Blurred Vision
It doesn’t take a genius to discern that eyesight is a huge part of driving. In fact, some individuals aren’t entirely blind, but they are denied a legal driver’s license by the state because their eyesight is so poor. This is pretty much what drinking does to you. There are even some cases were alcohol can cause you to lose total control of your eye movement. This is exactly what alcohol does to you and why you should never choose to drink and get behind the wheel.
