“I just want to be happy” is a phrase commonly uttered by those that are presented with the question: “What do you want out of life”. And it is a fair enough answer, in theory. The problem is that many people who set out to be “happy” believe absolutely that realizing certain goals will lead them to everlasting happiness: Graduating, getting married, having children, etc. After achieving the goal, they think they’ll “arrive” and live happily ever after, only to find out that’s not the case.
Life’s is about overcoming obstacles, and once one is conquered, you’ll experience that exhilarating moment of satisfaction we call “happiness”. The thing is that that moment eventually passes and it’s on to the next challenge so you can achieve your next “high”. The deal with happiness is not complicated at all, one only needs to ditch their preconceived notions about it and learn how it actually works in the real world. These books shows you just that.
