#2 Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie

Nothing says ‘a delicious who done it’, like an Agatha Cristie novel. The murder on the orient express follows the world-famous detective Hercule Poirot, who is on taking the Orient Express to his next case. A few things strike the detective as odd, such as the fact that the train is nearly empty but was apparently bought out. Early on in the journey, a murder is committed and the detective is determined to find out who did it.

#3 Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle

The story follows a federal marshal investigating a missing person on an island asylum for the criminally insane. The marshal Teddy Daniels is sure that there is more to the story than the administrators are letting on. #6 Miss Silver Mystery by Patricia Wentworth

he sluth is a woman, a retired governess, preceeded the celebrated Miss Marple of Agatha Christie. Grey Mask is the first in the series, there are 32 altogether. The characters are behaving a little bit too honorable or too strange for our times, but it's a great series of cozy British mysteries.
