Best Books: 5 Useful Self Help Books For Teens (Boys & Girls)

Let’s face it, teens need all the help they can get growing up in the media obsessed world we currently have. These self-help books can aid any teenager in even the most trying of times. And parents can probably pick up a trick or two from these also…

#1 The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey

No Title

No Description

Covey discusses all the big issues for every teen: self-image, friendships, peer pressure, relationships and goals. Instead of approaching these issues with instructions, he takes a more relatable approach. 7 Habits has cartoons, excellent quotes, and extraordinary stories from real teens. It's way more approachable than the typical self-help book because it isn't preachy.

#2 Overcoming Procrastination for Teens by William J. Knaus

No Title

No Description

We often work with procrastinators and perfectionistic teens who put off getting started with schoolwork. This leads to MORE stress and overwhelm as the workload piles up for teens who may then ask to go in late to school (or avoid it altogether) since they haven't completed the work they stayed up until past midnight trying to complete. When teens don't learn the tools to manage procrastination in high school, they take these poor habits into college and beyond and life becomes an overwhelming collection of tasks that make them feel like they are constantly at the bottom of a hole trying to climb upward.

Overcoming Procrastination for Teens has been a helpful tool for our clients to learn to create structure and routine so that they can organize their time effectively and prioritize the tasks they need to get done so they can enjoy the present moment and feel productive and accomplished at the same time.

Anxiety is the predominant struggle amongst teensย today. There are books specifically labeled as self-help for teenย anxiety, but I've found them to emphasize engaging stories and pictures. Asย Teen Anxiety is marketed for use by mental health professionals, it doesn'tย fill its pages with fluff. A self-motivated teen can use its 60 in-depth,ย research-based activities to understand and alleviate their symptoms.

#4 Divorce is not the end of the world by Evan and Zoe Stern

I love this book because itโ€™s written by teens, Evan and Zoe and so it addresses topics through the lens of a teen. An additional be for us that now Evan and Zoe are grown and they have added an update to the book. Their mom, Ellen, also helped guide the book.

#5 Believe your way to Badass by Celeste Rains-Turk

No Title

No Description

From the author:

My book, โ€œBelieve your way to Badassโ€ is an Interactive guide to redefining beliefs, developing self-love, and manifesting ones best most badass self. The reason I feel this is great for teens is that it gives them a way to get to know themselves, create goals, and even map out a game plan for achieving them in a loving, non-intimidating way. I take them through the process step by step in every chapter and it progresses throughout. I used these strategies starting at 17 and began developing with them and at 19 released this book and it became a #1 best-selling book on Amazon.
