As a man in his early 30’s I am wholly unqualified to suggest these books. Luckily for you, I am not suggesting them. Here are 14 books every woman in their 20’s should read as suggested by those much smarter and more qualified than I am.

#1 Exploring Meditation by Susan Shumsky
[This book] is an excellent, practical introduction to meditation, yoga, karma, affirmation, ESP, higher self, and spiritual awakening. it is based upon ancient practices that are tried and true, and that get powerful results. It is easy to read, amusing, entertaining, well-illustrated, with step-by-step instructions.
It has a great Meditation IQ Test in the first chapter that gets a lot of laughs and also provides tremendous insight into terms people think they know a lot about (such as “yoga” and “karma) but will probably be surprised at how little they actually know.

#3 The Apollo Illusion by Shari Lopatin
A gripping, modern-day dystopian suspense for college students and beyond, The Apollo Illusion captured the imagination of female millennials, many calling it captivating and one of the best books I've been asked to review. Newly published in May this year and featuring a strong female protagonist, The Apollo Illusion follows 19-year-old Flora down the dangerous path to truth as she seeks to discover what's beyond the Wall of her suspiciously too-perfect home state of Apollo in the year 2150. A page-turning story for the hackers, the techies, the seekers, and the rebels of the world.

It's essential reading for any woman in their 20s and is particularly potent in the context of the #metoo/Times Up era.

#7 The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
A gorgeous novel that doubles up as a self-help book. It’s a nice quick read and covers all the privileges we experience in our life and how not to take them for granted. It taught me to appreciate myself and how my actions powerfully impact others in a positive way, how to get out of my head and appreciate everyone has their own issues to deal with and how much I am loved even if I don’t know it. The book massively helped my relationships with friends and family.

#8 Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis
For all young women out there, I’m recommending Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis. I’ve been following the writer for years since I worked with her at my old PR agency. Now she’s killing the game as the CEO of her own media company and has recently moved to Austin, Texas (where I am now!). Her BFF is a lesbian, she is unashamed in wanting to be a mogul, and has 3 boys and an adopted little girl.
She’s very real, hilarious, and unapologetic about what she wants. It’s really just a motivational book for kick-ass women!

#9 If You Only Knew by Jamie Ivey
I highly recommend If You Only Knew: My Unlikely, Unavoidable Story of Becoming Free by Jamie Ivey to women in their twenties. Jamie is vulnerable in sharing her past, including some of the tougher things she's experienced, and shares her journey to finding true freedom through Jesus. All women, Christian or not, will find Jamie's story relevant in some way and will undoubtedly be encouraged by her words.

The Heath Brothers do a phenomenal job walking us through common problems, pitfalls and easy to use solutions. This book as it has helped shape my own decisions for the better.

#13 The Untethered Soul by Michael A Singer
I’m a massive over-thinker and take everything personally. I read into everyone's actions and behavior and tend to internalize everything - this book allowed me to overcome that within 3 days. It explains our internal critic in a super digestible way, I recommend it to everyone. It’s great for our generation of constant comparisons and negative self-talk.

#14 Add More Ing to Your Life by Gabrielle Bernstein
I literally have this book sat next to me as I reference it frequently. The guidance, meditations, and lessons are simple and accessible and were my first introduction to self-care. Gabrielle conveys how important it is to care for ourselves in such an easy way, and the advice jam-packed in the short book dramatically improved how I view myself and others so much so that my confidence and self-esteem soared. I think it was written for all us ladies in our 20’s!
