Gianicolo Hill (23/51)

Standing above the picturesque neighborhood of Trastevere, you’ll find Rome most romantic hill and the best panoramic views over the Eternal city of Rome. Standing at one of many viewpoints along the Passeggiata del Gianicolo, you can gaze out onto thousands of years of history, art and culture, all framed by Rome’s typical umbrella pine trees, growing from the hill around you. Beyond Rome, you can also see the Apennine mountain range, that stretches almost the full length of Italy. Gianicolo hill is also attached to Rome’s largest park, where you can enjoy a sunset picnic, before wowing the love of your life with a starry sky, ancient Rome at night, and the question you came here to ask. Gianicolo hill is truly special, and rarely visited by mass groups of tourists. At night, you’ll find more locals that you will visitors, but you will always find a quiet spot just for you and the person you love.
