Reading a book is different than reading on a screen. There are psychological reasons why extra white space improves online readability. This translates to more engagement or the user staying on the page and hopefully your site longer. Google rewards longer user sessions because this indicates the content answers the question and engages them. Use short sentences and paragraphs to improve readability and time on page.
