I read a statistic recently that said that people are spending almost 50% less time on the internet now compared to 2015. I’m not surprised; anything you can find online, they pretty much have an app for! The total number of mobile app downloads in 2017 was 197 billion. We’re busy moms. We don’t have time to sit, open up our laptops, and look things up. Thanks to apps, we no longer need to log on to a website browser to check our e-mail, check the weather, check sports stats, read the news, buy movie tickets, or chat with our friends. And most importantly, we certainly don’t need to go into Google anymore to search for popular workouts, fat loss, or muscle gain tips!

All the info you’ll ever need about fitness, supplements, cardio protocols, and nutrition can all be downloaded onto your phone with the touch of a button. I want to share my Top 5 favorite/most useful fitness apps for a busy mom with you.

1) MyFitnessPal

Nutrition is the foundation of everything we do, both aesthetically and athletically. Without knowing how much to eat, or what kind of foods to eat, we’re lost when it comes to goal-setting in the gym. MyFitnessPal is the best app I’ve found for tracking food and following you macro-based diet. With thousands of restaurant-foods in their extensive database, MFP makes it easy to eat out with your family, and still stick to your nutrition plan. It also allows you to input your exercise and set customized calorie or macro-based goals.

2) Couch to 5k

We all have to start somewhere. C25k wants to get you running a 5k, or just running 30min straight, in only 8-9 weeks. Regardless of where you’re starting from, C25K slowly eases you into becoming a runner, or at least improving your cardiovascular fitness. They gentle ease you into the program, beginning with intervals of walking and jogging, then jogging and running, eventually having you running with ease the whole time. There’s also a number of C25K online groups so you can chat with other people doing it, AND a podcast for you to learn more about the program/running.

3) Bodybuilding.com All Access

This might be the best all-in-one fitness app in the app store. Bodybuilding.com is easily the most recognizable name in fitness, and with good reason. They have some of the most knowledgeable, educated, helpful trainers writing and creating programs for them. You have access to literally the world’s most sought after personal trainers in the palm of your hand. Not only can you sort through dozens of different 4-16 week programs based on your goals (size, strength, fat loss, etc.), but you can also watch video demonstrations of each one of the exercises. It’s a one-two punch. The app also gives you quick and easy access to the store, so you can buy the supplements you need to help facilitate your progress.

4) Qinetic

With our ‘mom schedules’, it’s almost impossible to make group classes everyday at the same time. We try, but life gets in the way. What if those classes could come to us? It’s similar to bodybuilding.com in that you’re given workouts, but it’s an improvement in that Qinetic live streaming allows you to log in to real time workout classes with top-ranked coaches and trainers. You’re IN the class! They don’t just offer weight training either; they have nutrition seminars and motivational talks “that can be viewed right from the comfort of your own home and at no cost.”

5) Care.com app

This isn’t a cop out. We’re busy moms and we crave free time. So what better way to get that then hiring a babysitter to watch the kiddos for an hour or two? You need to go through a background check and have a certain rating to maintain your status here, so the people are trustworthy.

6) Spotify

Everyone knows you can’t get a good workout without the right music. Spotify has a playlist for running, walking, spinning, cardio, and lifting. Perfectly curated just for you!
