How To Make Your Baby Shower Memorable

A baby shower is, for most, a once- or twice-in-a-lifetime event, not to mention the magnitude of the occasion that it communicates. So why are so many baby showers so boring? It’s because they’re all the same! Mixing up your baby shower with some unexpected elements is often just the thing to make it stand out from all the other drab and bleak showers you may have attended. Here are some ways to make your baby shower memorable!

Open Guest List

A lot of the time, a baby shower guest list is restrictive and exclusive. Why? There is absolutely no reason to guard your baby shower like it’s Fort Knox. One of the best ways to make it memorable is to have an open invitation for your friends and family. That way, you cut down on the cost of sending invitations while making everyone feel welcome, no matter who they are to you. If you’re going this route, it should go without saying that gifts should be optional. After all, their presence is a gift in itself!

Unwrapped Gifts

We get that opening gifts is an activity, but there is only so much emotion you can give at a baby shower. Nothing is more awkward than watching an adult feign interest and excitement over a pack of burp cloths. Bringing unwrapped gifts cuts down on this and makes the present evaluation more of a moot task than a major event.

Have a Theme

One of the best ways to make a baby shower memorable is to have a theme other than “baby.” Think of something creative, such as an under-the-sea motif or a rainbow theme. Have guests dress casually according to the theme. Heck! Just make sure that whatever you do is fun and makes you happy! You could even have a costume contest in accordance with your theme.

A baby shower does not need to be some awkward cookie-cutter party—that’s the last thing your guests want. Instead, use these tips to make your baby shower more memorable. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box or try new things with your guests. As long as you follow these guidelines, you’ll have a great time!
