#1 Back on the Beach Cafe
By far, my fave is in Los Angeles: Back on the Beach Cafe, 445 Pacific Coast Hwy, Santa Monica, CA 90402. Ugo Cafe is also excellent and in a beautiful setting at 3865 Cardiff Ave, Culver City, CA 90232.
There's nothing like eating outdoors, especially in sunny California. They say it's even good for your blood pressure to eat among the trees and grass under a blue sky now and then in the fresh summer breeze. Looking forward to hearing about your favorite places enjoy an outdoor meal or drinks. Cheers!
#2 A. Lacroix Patissier in Paris
There are so many wonderful outdoor cafes in Paris that it's hard to choose, but I always love going back to A. Lacroix Patissier at 11 quai de Montebello, 75005 Paris, France. The pastry is to die for. Must haves include chocolate croissants and the quiche. It's a great place to snuggle with a friend or stretch out and write out some old-fashioned postcards if the inspiration hits you. Plus, the service is really good.
#3 Angler in London
#4 Alcove Cafe
Alcove Cafe is located in a very cool part of LA at 1929 Hillhurst Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027. Everything on the menu is top quality, from the beer/wine /cocktails to food items to dessert. Something about the layout of the place makes it a great place to study or write. Indoor seating as well as outdoor.
If you happen to be vegetarian there's plenty to choose from. You may find yourself becoming a regular here.
#5 Regional Bar & Restaurant in New York City
Located at 2607 Broadway in the Upper West Side, Regional is one of the best bangs for your buck in the city, and the go-to place for brunch. From pancakes to pasta to sandwiches and burgers to specialty dishes you'll not find on the topside of this earth outside of the various regions of Italy from which their ingredients are directly sourced, the food is unforgettable.
The weekends here tend to be lively. It's on weeknights that the outdoor seating becomes more intimate, more romantic. Watch the calendar for specials certain nights of the week, including half price wine selections on Wednesday nights. Connoisseur of fine food and wine rejoice.
#6 Dual Cafe – Barcelona, Spain
In the San Antoni section of the city at 65 Comte Borrell Street in Barcelona, Spain you will find one of the best places to eat in the city. There are over 8,500 places to eat in Barcelona, so that's saying quite a lot. There's cozy outdoor seating, but the indoor seating is pretty romantic as well. Dual Cafe is a mix of modern and ancient, like many places in the city. You'll be glad to have experienced this particular romantic cafe.
#7 Backstreet Cafe
If you're ever in Houston, Texas be sure to check out the Backstreet Cafe at 1103 S. Shepherd Street. The cafe is the perfect romantic setting, complete with fountains, songbirds and photogenic trees. A real American bistro, this cafe is famous for their gourmet food with a Tex-Mex flair. The serene setting is a welcomed change of pace from the rest of the city.
